KANSAS CITY DIESEL POWER REVIEW
Visit Kansas City and surrounding areas, before all the great mergers of the mid 1990's! See trains from many different roads, with highly detailed maps and narration on how freight moves thru the Kansas City area. Visit Santa Fe Junction, Airline Junction and Neff yard! See run down industrial areas and scenic city backdrops with trains running thru "the bottoms". Many transfers and locals are shown from Santa Fe, Gateway Western, Soo, UP and KCS! Tight bridge shots and many over under meets, highlight this action packed area. There is also plenty of fast countryside running outside of town, with trains moving at full track speed wide open! See a variety of paint schemes and motive power, that is long gone from mainline service today, including early GE's and EMD locomotives. As the years progress in this movie, witness the newer locomotives taking over, many being the very last engines ever ordered from these historic fallen flag railroads. There are some fine examples of older CNW EMD units, mixed in with newer CNW AC 4400s and C-44-9w Operation Lifesaver engines! Lots of clean SP/SSW power, and a wide variety of Santa Fe painted Warbonnets. These models include Dash-8-40-B, and C-44-9, Cowl SDP-45s, SD-70s and standard and cabless GP-60s. Rare blue and yellow painted SD-39, GP-40X, GP-50 and GP-9U and GP-7U models are also welcome sights.
